Central Office Circuit Trouble (DSO)
Description:
The goal of the Central Office Circuit Trouble Analysis
class is to instruct the student in the KEY aspects and processes required
for installing and maintaining individual telephone circuits. The class is
taught from a central office perspective using TIRKS and WFA. A portable lab
is utilized for hands on exercises of the individual DS0 channelized
circuits. At the end of the class the student will have a working knowledge
of trouble analysis techniques required to clear both signaling and
transmission troubles found in today’s network. Circuit job aides are
provided for the student to use during the lecture, hands on lab exercises,
and to have after completion of the course.
Performance Objectives:

Utilize a TIRKS Word document to properly locate and verify optioning of
central office equipment.

Understand and use the central office screens of the WFA system to manage
the provisioning and maintenance of telephone type circuits within the
central office.

Demonstrate an
understanding of the transmission requirements for end to end testing of
telephone circuits

Demonstrate an
understanding of signaling techniques used in central office equipment

Demonstrate the ability to
analyze and prove trouble in or out of a specific central office
Who Can Benefit
Technical personnel and
managers of technical personal with minimal central office experience. No
prior experience is required and no prerequisites exist to attend this
training.
