DS1/DS3 Over SONET
Description:
The DS1/DS3 over SONET class is a suit-cased instructor-led
learning activity that is 2 days in length and includes a portable
lab. The course is designed to instruct the student in the KEY
aspects of DS1/DS3 and SONET applications and maintenance.
The class incorporates SONET muxes which are used to demonstrate
how Async/Sync meets in the network. In addition advanced topics
such as network timing are covered, that include demonstrations
with hands on troubleshooting utilizing an OC3 DDM 2000, ADC DS3
M13 Mux, and the Tellabs 531 1/0 cross-connect system. At the end
of the class the student will have a working knowledge of DS1/DS3
and the interfaces to Async and SONET muxes. The DDM-2000 is used
as a training aid to discuss / demonstrate introductory SONET
principals and interface/maintenance issues. DDM-2000 alarms and
CIT craft interface commands are covered.
