Global’s course offerings with Central
Carolina Community College
The North Carolina School of Telecommunications, which
is a department of Central Carolina Community College in Sanford, NC is
working with Global to offer telephony courses as part of the continuing
education program. The North Carolina School of Telecommunications has an
extensive suite of course offerings and a state of the art facility optimum
for knowledge transfer. This relationship with Global positions the college
to offer courses that compliment their current curriculum to students in the
area. The courses are ideal for corporate clients who want their employees
to benefit from strategic training opportunities being brought to Sanford.
These courses have been offered in conjunction with the North Carolina Telecommunication Industry Association (NCTIA) who is committed in support
Telco training initiatives.
Courses offered
through this relationship for the spring 2006 semester include
“Understanding VoIP,” “Exploring Broadcast Video over Internet” and “DS3
Maintenance Labs.”

Global's Continuing Education and BICSI credits
program for courses
In an continuing effort to add value for our students,
Global has partnered with The NC School of Telecommunications to provide
continuing education credits for courses taken at their facility. Most
corporations encourage continuing education programs and these credits allow
our students to further their goals and aspirations on their jobs.
In addition to collegiate continuing education credits
we have had our courses also certified through BICSI. BICSI is a
telecommunication association that has established technical certification
levels for its membership. Many organizations have incorporated the BICSI
model as the internal structure for credential technicians. Global has
submitted and been approved for course certification through BICSI. The

Global offers two new
training courses

The
Exploring Broadcast Video over Internet course provides an
understanding of the design and architectural criteria required for a
successful implementation of Broadcast Video utilizing Internet Protocols
(IP). This instructor led course contains key information to establish a
solid understanding of broadcast video architecture, advantages and
alternatives. At the end of the class the student will have a working
knowledge of key components that makeup the “Triple Play”, sometimes
discussed as IPTV or Video over Copper.
